read this really neat article by hindu columnist 'Sudhish Kamath' about the newly introduced dress code by the anna university VC .
wish I'd bin the first one to write it .
here is whatever I remember of the article :

I totally agree with the Vice-Chancellor .
He's right .

Jeans and tee shirts are not part of the Indian Culture . Lets get rid of them .

Neither is English , lets get rid of that too . Lets do all the work in Sanskrit .

Infact let the students wear costumes , from the time of Asoka . I say , make the females wear the dress worn by rani Kaurwaki . Its Indian culture and that wont distract the students at all .

Infact lets do away with all the technology .
Lets do away with the evil of engineering that is destroying our rural pockets into urban centres .
Lets get rid of democracy too . That aint Indian culture . Lets call the Kings . Bring the courtesans . Let there be war to decide who rules . Thats our heritage afterall .
Lets all learn to shoot with bows and aroows , and hunt for food ,clad in loin cloth.

Lets do away with sex . Its a sin . Lets all embrace abstinence .
Even Adam and Eve practiced discipline untill that damn apple came along .

I say lets do away with apples too .

And then peace will prevail for the VC to live happily forever with the dinosaurus .
